Redwoods and Rhododendrons
along the Bald Hills Road near the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Orick, California

This photo shows a typical upland redwood forest.  There is a mix of redwood, Douglas-fir and tanoak in the overstory with mostly evergreen shrubs in the understory.  Herbaceous species are not abundant in upland redwood forests.
